Radio control servos, how can they be activated without using a radio receiver.?

I am trying to use them for a purpose unrelated to model aircraft flying so i do not need a radio reciever. I need the servo to fully throw and return by applying a trigger pulse to the white wire, but i dont know if i have to use a resistor or something to make this happen.Radio control servos, how can they be activated without using a radio receiver.?
They use 'Pulse Coded Modulation' to controll the servo.

Its not a simple task to control a servo directly.
